Journey to Baltimore, Maryland and discover our roots as American Catholics.  Step back into the early 19th-century and visit the sacred shrines and places of pilgrimage which testify to the deep faith and heroic virtue of those who brought the Catholic faith to America.  Highlights can include: Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary - nation’s oldest cathedral, newly restored in 2006; St. Alphonsus Church – a magnificent German gothic-style church;  Holy Rosary - The Archdiocesan Divine Mercy Shrine;  St. Jude Shrine, Mother Seton House, Cathedral of Mary Our Queen and Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

Optionally, visit shrines in nearby Washington, DC (Pope John Paul II Cultural Center , Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Franciscan Monastery  and Gardens) or Emmitsburg (National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton & The National Shrine Grotto of Lourdes).
