Journey to the Pittsburgh area and then travel aboard Amtrak’s “Pennsylvanian” train for an exciting and scenic rail ride through the Allegheny mountains.   In Pittsburgh we'll visit St. Anthony's Chapel and the world's largest collection of relics outside of Rome. Travel into the heart of the Alleghenies and around world famous Horseshoe Curve, an engineering masterpiece completed in 1854 which revolutionized rail travel.  Visit the peaceful town of Loretto where in 1799 Father Demetrius Gallitzin established the only Catholic church at the time between Lancaster and St. Louis.  Celebrate Mass in the lovely Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel and visit Prince Gallitzin’s Chapel House which was the residence and private chapel of Father Gallitzin.  Stroll through beautiful Mount Assisi Sunken Gardens, located on the grounds of the former summer estate of Bethlehem Steel magnate, Charles Schwab.     Highlights can include Pittsburgh,  St. Anthony's Chapel and Relics, Latrobe, St. Vincent College & Seminary, Loretto, Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Mount Assisi Sunken Gardens, located on the grounds of the former summer estate of Bethlehem Steel magnate, Charles Schwab, Johnstown, Johnstown Flood Museum and Inclined Plane.
