Begun in 1885, the Martyr’s Shrine is a monument to these first North American saints. Travel to nearby Fonda and visit the National Shrine of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha which honors the place where this American Indian girl was baptized and lived almost half her life. Journey into the lovely Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts and visit the National Shrine of Divine Mercy. The shrine originated from the divine revelations, mystical experiences and intense sufferings of St. Maria Faustina of Poland.
